About Ruined Portal Finder

Ruined Portals are decayed Nether Portal frames scattered across the Overworld and Nether, made of crying obsidian and regular obsidian. Each one has a chest nearby with early-game Nether loot — flint and steel, golden apples, fire charges, gold blocks, and enchanted iron gear. Most ruined portals are incomplete: a few missing obsidian blocks are usually all that stand between you and an early Nether trip. Java and Bedrock include them. The Ruined Portal Finder pulls exact coordinates from your seed.

How to Find Ruined Portal In Minecraft

Ruined Portals generate at any elevation in all Overworld and Nether biomes — sometimes exposed on hills, sometimes half-buried in caves or underwater, sometimes mostly submerged. Look for incomplete obsidian frames combined with nearby gold blocks and magma. Enter your seed into the Ruined Portal Finder to find the nearest portal in your world.

How to use Ruined Portal in Minecraft

  • Complete the portal frame with regular obsidian for an early Nether route
  • Collect gold blocks near the portal for early crafting and piglin trading
  • Loot the portal chest for flint and steel, enchanted weapons, and golden apples
  • Gather crying obsidian for crafting respawn anchors used in the Nether
  • Use the portal as an early Nether portal without mining obsidian from scratch
  • Collect iron nuggets and gold ingots from chest loot
  • Harvest the obsidian frame for additional obsidian if needed
  • Use fire charges from the chest to activate portals without flint and steel
