About Emerald
Emerald ore is one of Minecraft's rarest overworld ores, spawning exclusively in mountain biomes. Unlike other ores, emeralds usually appear as single blocks rather than clusters. Each ore drops one emerald when mined with an iron pickaxe or higher. Emeralds are highly valuable as the main currency for villager trading and are also useful for decorative builds. They appear in both stone and deepslate forms, mostly near mountain peaks.
How to Find Emerald In Minecraft
Emerald ore generates between Y-levels 320 and -16, only in mountain biomes, with the highest frequency above Y-level 100. Mining requires an iron pickaxe or better, and the Fortune enchantment boosts emerald drops. Alternatively, you can obtain emeralds reliably through villager trading in Minecraft worlds.
