About Emerald Finder

Emerald ore ranks among the rarest ores in Minecraft, generating exclusively inside mountain biomes — windswept hills, jagged peaks, frozen peaks, and stony peaks. Unlike most ores, emeralds spawn as single isolated blocks rather than veins, which is why strip mining rarely works for them. Java and Bedrock Edition both use the same mountain-only rule, with deepslate emerald variants appearing below Y=0. Drop your seed into the Emerald Finder to get exact emerald coordinates instead of climbing every mountain in sight.

How to Find Emerald In Minecraft

Emerald ore generates between Y=-16 and Y=320, peaking around Y=236 in mountain biomes. Mining requires an iron pickaxe or better, and Fortune III dramatically boosts shard drops. Outside mountain biomes you will never find a single emerald block naturally, no matter how deep you dig. Enter your world seed into the Emerald Finder to skip hours of strip mining and head straight to the nearest deposit.
