About Amethyst

Amethyst geodes are rare spherical structures in Minecraft that house growing amethyst crystals in both Java and Bedrock Edition. Each geode features outer layers of smooth basalt and calcite, with budding amethyst blocks inside that produce crystal clusters over time. Amethyst is used for crafting spyglasses and tinted glass, and geodes make visually striking builds. Use the Amethyst Finder with your world seed to locate the nearest geode coordinates.

How to Find Amethyst In Minecraft

Amethyst geodes generate between Y=-64 and Y=70 across all Overworld biomes. Crystal clusters grow through four stages — small, medium, large, and full cluster — and only fully grown clusters drop 4 amethyst shards. Silk Touch does not harvest clusters. Enter your seed into the Amethyst Finder to locate the nearest geode in your specific world.
