Each block drops coal immediately when mined, making it an essential fuel source and crafting material for torches, blocks, and furnaces.

How to Find Coal In Minecraft

Coal generates between Y-levels 320 and -64, most abundant around Y-level 95. Veins can contain up to 17 blocks, often exposed on mountains, cliffs, and cave walls. Any pickaxe can mine coal, and Fortune enchantments increase drops. Coal can also be obtained from Wither Skeletons or villager trades.
